Dr. John Sandy is Board Chairman, Sierra Leone Arc of Hope.
 John works with the Pennsylvania Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN), and Family Design Resources (FDR) in the United States of America as Southeast Regional Technical Assistant for 9 private and public agencies, including Delaware and Chester Counties. John holds social work and real estate licenses in the State of Pennsylvania. After briefly teaching with the Catholic Mission in Lungi, John worked with Sierra Leone Airlines as Air Cargo Officer, and in 1985 came to the United States to pursue higher education.Â
John is former Program Director, Foundations Behavioral Health, and erstwhile Executive Director for PSI Services II, Inc., a non-profit private foster care and adoption agency in the City of Philadelphia. John joined PSI in 1999 as Clinical Case Manager, and within one month was promoted to Team Coordinator. In 2001, he was promoted to Program Director, and later to Executive Director. Prior to PSI, John worked with the State of Maryland in Baltimore, Department of Social Services as Lead Social Worker. He also worked with a State Senator in Maryland, and received a Maryland Legislative Proclamation for “Outstanding Contribution as a student Intern”. John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park; a Master’s degree in Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore, and Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, Miami Beach, Florida. |
